Kolkata: Two men on a motorcycle opened fire near a school in Kolkata this morning, injuring one person.
The shooting took place around 9:15 am, in front of the Loreto St Mary's High School located on the Convent Road in central Kolkata.
A passerby was shot in the foot in the firing and taken to hospital.
"What if the children had got hit?" said one parent. Another said "firing in the day in Kolkata is unprecedented."
They were deployed there due to tension in a nearby mill after a wall collapse accident injured some workers on Sunday.
