Kolkata:
Two doctors have been suspended from the Calcutta National Medical College and Hospital (CNMCH) for alleged medical negligence in the treatment of a medical student leading to his death.
State health department officials said a five-member probe committee formed by the hospital found faults in the treatment of the seriously injured final-year medical student of the college Ritesh Jaiswal by the two doctors.
Jaiswal had died at the hospital on September 14 after which a committee was formed to investigate allegations of medical negligence.
Jaiswal had suffered serious head injuries in a road accident.
The report said the accused doctors did not follow the standard medical guidelines in treating the patient who had a clot in the brain and needed an immediate CT scan which was not done.
