Kolkata: The Kolkata Police on Tuesday questioned noted writer Amit Chaudhuri and his daughter in connection with the death of a teenager after attending a party at their home over the weekend.
Seven other people, who were present at the time of the incident when 17-year-old Aabesh Dasgupta died after being allegedly hit by a broken alcohol bottle at the Sunny Park complex, were also questioned, a police officer said.
Mr Chaudhuri and his daughter were questioned in Kolkata Police headquarters in Lal Bazar.
According to sources, the investigators probing the case were trying to match versions of these seven persons with those 14 questioned in connection with the incident yesterday, the officer said.
Members of the special team, formed to investigate the death of the Class 11 student have spoken to the girl to whom Aabesh was said to be close to.
The police also examined the WhatsApp messages of Aabesh and those in other social networking sites.
About the post mortem report, a senior officer said that "it was still inconclusive and may require some more time to have a final one".
Meanwhile, a group of friends of the teenager paid visit to his Mudiali residence along with their friends. Reiterating that Aabesh was a "nice human being" they demanded justice for their friend.
Aabesh was killed last Saturday when a youth accompanying him to the birthday party allegedly hit him with glass shards during a quarrel in the car parking lot of the writer's apartment at upscale Ballygunge area.
The police has started a murder case against "unknown person" on the basis of the statement of his mother.
