Kolkata: The NIA today arrested a Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) member in connection with the sensational October 2 Burdwan blast in West Bengal, an agency officer said.
He was arrested by the National Investigation Agency near the Howrah railway station.
"The accused Nurul Hoque is a trained member of JMB and was involved in collection of funds for the outfit," a Deputy Inspector General (investigations) Anurag Tankha told IANS.
"He was arrested from near the Howrah railway station," he added.
The accidental blast took place inside a house in Khagragarh in Burdwan, killing two JMB militants and injuring another. Some people, mostly Bangladeshi nationals, have been arrested and indicted in the case.
