Kolkata: A Border Security Force (BSF) jawan has been arrested in kolkata after allegedly molesting a woman journalist.
The journalist says the jawan was drunk at the time of the incident that took place at the busy Shyambazar crossing around 730 pm.
When the woman cried for help, passersby nabbed and beat up the jawan but two other jawans with him managed to flee.
"I had stepped out of a restaurant when the jawans who were in uniform also stepped out and began passing lewd comments. One of then then brushed past me in an extremely inappropriate manner that I can't describe," said the journalist.
The police had to lathicharge the crowd to take the jawan into custody. All three jawans had made lewd remarks at the woman. One of them then allegedly molested her.
The three jawans reportedly belong to 19 Battalion and were on their way to the north-east. The trio had left their colleagues at Howrah station and come to the city for sightseeing.
