Kolkata:
The engine of Howrah-New Jalpaiguri Shatabdi Express detached near Jhaugram station in Burdwan district today on Howrah-Burdwan section of Eastern Railway, about 170 kilometres from Kolkata.
The engine travelled 250 metres after the coupling separated from the bogies at 4:00 pm but the driver reversed it and joined the train, an Eastern railway spokesman said.
None of the passengers was hurt.
The train was detained for some time as a consequence.
