Kolkata : A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) trooper on Sunday allegedly gunned down his senior officer in Kolkata following an argument over a phone call. He later surrendered, police said.
According to police, Inspector Guru Padadsheet raised an objection when CISF jawan Neelkant Bihara's phone rang inside the CISF camp at the Kolkata Port Trust. Furious over the objection, the jawan fired three rounds from his rifle at his senior. Prior to incident, the jawan had been denied leave twice, police added.
The incident happened inside the CISF camp at the Kolkata Port Trust (KoPT).
"We have arrested a CISF jawan after he gunned down Inspector Guru Padasheet," Deputy Commissioner of Police (Port) V. Nesakumar said.
The accused will be produced in court later on Sunday.
