There was a minor scare today at the Kolkata airport after a Jet Airways flight made an emergency landing less than an hour after take-off following a smoke alarm in the aircraft.
The Bhubaneswar-bound flight, which took off from the airport at 6:20 pm, came back at
around 7:10 pm after the pilot informed the Air Traffic Control (ATC) that the plane's smoke alarm went off when it was mid-air.
All passengers were evacuated after landing and are reported to be safe.
The flight is scheduled to take off after the necessary checks.
