An Air Deccan plane from Jamshedpur today landed in emergency conditions at NSC Bose
International airport after one of its engines developed a technical problem and shut down mid-air.
All 17 people on board the aircraft are safe, airport sources said. The pilot of the Jamshedpur-Kolkata flight contacted Air Traffic Control of Kolkata airport after one of its two
engines shut down mid-air, they said.
All preparations were made and the flight landed safely at 1 PM. The small aircraft of the low-cost carrier shuttles between Kolkata and Jamshedpur daily, officials said.
