Kolkata:
With the outbreak of Ebola in African countries, the NSCB International airport authorities in Kolkata put in place measures to screen passengers from Africa.
Airport Health Officer PC Mondal said while no case have reported yet, the health unit of airport has activated a mechanism where any passenger from Africa will be subjected to health check-up on arrival.
The screening will not be done for in-bound passengers from other regions.
The move followed the Ministry of Health guidelines in the wake of the outbreak of the virus, especially in four west African countries with the World Health Organisation (WHO) declaring the epidemic an 'international emergency'.
