Barasat, West Bengal: Bodies of a 60-year-old woman and her son were found floating in a fish pond near Sector 5 of Salt Lake in Kolkata on Sunday, the police said.
The body of Tandra Bhattacharya was found first and when the police were trying to retrieve it from water, they noticed another body which was later identified as that of her son Soumya (36).
The police suspected that it was a case of suicide. Preliminary investigations revealed that the mother and son, residents of BJ block of Salt Lake, were suffering from depression over some family matters.
The deceased woman's husband is a retired engineer of the DVC and their daughter too had committed suicide over a year back, police said.
