As per the school, the boy was suspended on July 8 after he was caught tampering with his mark-sheet.
Kolkata:
A 15-year-old student of Kolkata's Scottish Church Collegiate School allegedly went missing from the school premises, prompting parents and guardians to stage demonstrations today.
Biseswar Pal, a student of Class 10, has been untraceable since Saturday. The school has denied any responsibility, saying he was under suspension since July on disciplinary grounds.
Alleging negligence and foul play, angry parents and guardians on the day staged protests at the school. Parents were seen throwing bottles at teachers and the headmaster had to be carried out on a stretcher. The police had to be called in to control the situation.
The school says the student had come on Saturday but they have no idea of when he left.
"The boy must have come around 10:30 and left by quarter to 11. When we came to know of this we were very worried and spoke to the person in charge of the investigation," Headmaster Bibhash Sanyal told reporters.
According to the principal, the boy was suspended on July 8 after he was caught tampering with his mark-sheet.
The boy's family claims they were never informed about the suspension and he used to regularly attend the school.
"We dropped the boy to school. We did not know he why he was suspended. How did the boy come out of the school? This is the question," Arun Pal, Bisheshwar Pal's uncle told NDTV.
The police have filed a case of kidnapping.
