Kolkata: Kolkata Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee today visited the family of Rajib Das in Barasat, who died on Tuesday after being stabbed by a group of miscreants when he tried to stop them from molesting his sister.
The incident took place late on Monday at Barasat, about 15 km from the Kolkata airport following which 16-year-old Rajib was admitted in a hospital, where he died on Tuesday.
The incident has shocked the state especially as it occurred within a hundred metres of the District Magistrate's bungalow.
The girl had even run to the District Magistrate's bungalow and called for help but the policemen on duty apparently refused to budge.
