Kolkata : A class X girl student on Wednesday was designated as the deputy commissioner of Kolkata Police's traffic department for a day, after she won an essay writing competition organised by the city police.
Fifteen-year-old Angshu Harikumar of Gurbachan Singh Sondhi HS bagged the top honours in the competition and was made the DC, traffic, of the city police for a day today.
City Police Commissioner S K Purakayastha was present when Anghsu took over the chair.
Around 150 schools in the city participated in the competition organised by the city police aiming to increase traffic awareness among the people.
