Kolkata:
Low visibility due to fog disrupted flight schedules at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport today.
Airport sources said the fog started building up since midnight last night and was denser than the permissible limit of 100m at around 5 AM.
This caused a number of flights scheduled to land at the airport to be diverted, while many others were rescheduled.
The first flight to take off was the Air India Kolkata-Portblair flight at 7.55 AM instead of at 5.40 AM, the sources said.
However, the situation improved as the day progressed.
