Kolkata: Police force in Kolkata has been asked to be extra alert following the bomb blast in Bengaluru on Sunday evening, a top police officer said.
"Police has been sensitised following the blast in Bengaluru," Commissioner of Police Surajit Kar Purkayastha told PTI.
Asked whether any high alert was issued in the city following the Bengaluru blast, the Commissioner of Police said, "Our force is always alert and there is no such system to issue high alert. We have sensitised them and they are extra cautious now."
One woman was killed and a man injured in an explosion triggered by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in front of a famous restaurant on a busy road in Bengaluru on Sunday night.
