Kolkata: A 17-year-old boy was found hanging at his home last night in Kolkata. Police say he killed himself after allegedly being scolded by his teachers at his school.
Sunil Kumar Gupta was studying at the Jawaharlal Vidyapith school in Kolkata's Ekbalpore area. His body was discovered by his elder brother Anil Gupta.
The victim's family alleges that his class teacher, Shakti Pal and physical education teacher, Sheikh Ibrahim had been harassing him for the last few days due to which he was upset.
The family further alleges that Sunil, who they say was mentally tortured by the teachers over trivial issues, was beaten up by a classmate on Tuesday. The accused teachers, they allege, harassed the teen and asked him to go back home and call his parents.
