The rosary, whichwas gifted to Sant Kabir by his Guru, went missing from the sanctum sanctorum of theKabir ashram last Saturday and the incident came to light on Sunday morning.
An FIR was lodgedat the Chetganj police station against the Thai monk and his two accomplices by thecaretakers of the ashram, who suspected them of stealing the rosary.
Superintendent of Police Rajesh D Modak said, "We have got a location in Kolkataof the Thai monk and his two accomplices and a police team has also been sent there."
An alert was sounded at all airports in this regard, Modak said, adding thatprobe is going on in this case. The Thai monk, who has been visiting the ashram since the past three years, hadrequested for meditating inside the sanctum sanctorum of the ashram for five minutesand the ashram administration gave him permission.
The caretakers ofthe ashram later alleged that the monk replaced the original rosary with a duplicateone.
