Kolkata: A professor of a top film institute in Kolkata has been arrested for allegedly raping a student in May 2014.
Neeraj Sahay of the Satyajit Ray Film And Television Institute was arrested in Thane on Tuesday. He was brought to Kolkata last night.
The student complained against the professor last month. After an internal inquiry, the professor was suspended and a police complaint was filed against him on December 24. He had been missing since then.
The girl has alleged that several other students complained about sexual abuse on campus after she lodged her complaint with authorities. Subsequently, three more professors were suspended last month.
