Kolkata:
There was a mid-air scare today for the passengers onboard a Kingfisher airline's Delhi-Bangkok flight after the windscreen of the plane they were travelling in cracked.
The plane, with around 114 passengers onboard, had made an unscheduled stop at the Kolkata airport at 3:55 am.
Reports say the windshield cracked due to a suspected bird hit.
To add to the passengers' woes, they were complaining about the delay and the poor facilities for the large number of children on the flight.
The airline, however, denied it was an emergency landing.
Prakash Mirpuri, Vice President, Corporate Communications, Kingfisher Airlines said that the flight had a "technical flaw", which caused the pilot to divert the plane to Kolkata.
