Kolkata:
A teenage girl was raped and killed on Tuesday in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district and her body was found near paddy fields, police said.
"The incident took place at Dadpur village in Barasat-II block. The villagers noticed the girl's body lying near the paddy field. Her hands and legs were tied with a rope and the villagers informed us," an officer of the Barasat police station said.
"Investigation revealed that she was raped and later killed after being thrashed with a hard weapon on her head. The body has been sent for autopsy and investigation has been initiated," the officer added.
