Trinamool Congress MP and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's nephew Abhishek Banerjee will undergo a surgery this afternoon for "orbital floor fracture" he suffered during a car accident last Tuesday.
According to a medical bulletin released by the medical facility, the medical board comprising orbit surgeons, maxillofacial surgeons, plastic surgeons, anesthetists, eye specialists, cardiologists and neurologists held a meeting last evening when they had a discussion on the health condition of the TMC youth wing's president and decided to go for the surgery today.
Such surgery takes one-and-half hour to two hours, Bulle Vue Clinic CEO P Tondon said, adding that arrangements were complete for the operation.
Mr Banerjee's car had met with an accident on the National Highway-2 near Singur in Hooghly district on Tuesday last.
