Two non-resident Indian women were today detained at Kolkata's Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose international airport after ammunition cartridge cases were found in their luggage.
The women were carrying five rounds of ammunition, news agency ANI said.
The airport security personnel detected the cartridge cases while scanning the handbag of Piyali De and her daughter Anamika, who were scheduled to board an Emirates flight to Dubai on their onward journey to Italy, a police officer of Airport Police station said.
The two women, who are being interrogated, are residents of France.
