Kolkata: An Uber cab driver was arrested for allegedly "misbehaving" with a woman passenger in the city, police said today.
The incident happened last night when the woman, a journalist with an English daily, took an Uber cab from Camac Street to her residence at Survey Park in the southern part of the city, a senior officer of Kolkata Police said.
During the ride the driver Mohammed Qurban allegedly started "misbehaving" with the lady, he said.
"Though according to the complaint there was no body touch or physical molestation the driver used inappropriate words with the lady passenger and abused her," the officer said.
On the basis of the woman's complaint the driver was arrested and a case has been lodged under IPC sections 504, 506, 509, he said.
