Kolkata: A woman Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) constable on duty shot herself dead with her service revolver at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International (NSCBI) Airport in Kolkata, police said on Thursday.
Lakshmi Biswas, a resident of Assam, allegedly committed suicide by shooting herself in the security hold area between Gates No 1A and 1B of Kolkata airport at around 11:30 pm on Wednesday night.
The woman was rushed to Dumdum Municipal Hospital where she was declared dead, police said.
The police recovered a suicide note from the spot.
"The body has been sent for post-mortem," said a senior police official from the airport police station.
