In case the success stories of Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani, and Padmaavat, weren't enough the director has now managed to captivate audiences on OTT with Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. True to his signature style, the opulence, grandeur, and narratives of bygone royal eras resurface in this period drama. Beyond the sets and regal outfits, the jewellery plays a significant role. The exquisite jewellery depicts the rich culture of that time. The dazzling jewels of Heeramandi are crafted entirely by Shri Paramani Jewels. Richa Chadha in an interview with Sucharita Tyagi revealed that every pasa, tika, nath, and necklace worn in the web series was as “real” as it could get. “All of the jewellery is real. If I would wear all of it and run then I could make another film of my own if I wore all of it cumulatively,” she said.
Early this year, in an interaction with News18, the founder of Shri Paramani Jewels — Vinay Gupta talked about the elaborate process of crafting these state-of-art jewels. Calling the making procedure a “magnanimous task”, he said, “Over three years, three rooms full of jewellery, and days and nights full of craftsmanship were done to revive the work over 200 years ago. We worked day in and day out, just to bring the vision to reality. More than 10,000 pieces and more than 300 kgs of jewellery in total were crafted.” Not just on the ladies but as part of the sets too can you witness the magic of these pieces through the scenes of the webseries as well.
