"You're funny, for a girl."
"He's just laughing because you're pretty."
"Your laugh is funnier than your joke."
Blah Blah Blah.
Oh, the perils of being a funny woman. Your sense of humour is bound to go unnoticed, more often than not, thanks to that dust of sexism someone sprinkled rather abundantly over the generations.
While it might be easy for some to forget that how funny we are, the ability to make people laugh is, in fact, not determined by our sex. Thankfully, there are women whose persisting presence on social media is making it hard for this notion of 'women just aren't as funny' to exist. These women aren't "trying too hard" or "trying to get noticed", they just got noticed because they are funny. Get-stitches-in-your-side-from-laughing-too-hard level of funny.
Here are some tweets by women that'll be perfect to show anyone who thinks women aren't funny.
1. Radhika Vaz, comedian and author of book "unladylike" has made a lot of people rethink a lot things. Who would've thought the way one ties their sari would be one of those things!
What's up with the 'one boob' sari drape? Let 'em both hang out ladies! The left one is feeling left out.

2. Iman Sheikh is a writer and after going through her Twitter account we can assure you she's a funny one. 'Deranged man-hater posing to be a feminist', is what she describes herself as on her Twitter handle. A woman who can laugh at herself while also making you laugh, not so uncommon after all?
this one time i was unconsciously sucking on my own arm b/c i was occupied with reading something, and i noticed i left three purple hickeys on it and got worried about how i'll hide HICKEYS I GAVE MY OWN SELF FROM MOM.

3. Lilly Singh, aka, IISuperwomanII, has been making the world laugh for a while now - but talking about women who laugh at themselves, she's definitely ahead of the curve. She just made herself more relatable with this tweet.

4. Charlene Deguzman, actor and writer, makes everything interesting. Her humour is intelligent with sarcasm oozing out. You're likely to become a fan if you decide to follow her.
DATING TIP: If you fill up a backpack with hot bread and wear it to bed it feels like spooning

5. There's no one like Twinkle Khanna when it comes to saying it like it is and still keeping it light and humorous. There's a reason she's called MrsFunnyBones.
Middle age: When you realize that you know a little about everything, but not enough about anything, including yourself #BabaTwinkdev
— Twinkle Khanna (@mrsfunnybones) December 5, 2017
6. Richa Chadha isn't afraid to be funny even if it's slightly offensive to some. We like your style Richa. Or shall we say, Rcha?
How about black jack and black dog ? https://t.co/tDOPelYk3x
— TheRichaChadha (@RichaChadha) December 30, 2017
If I remove the 'i' from my name, will I be more acceptable ? Please call me Rcha now. Ok?
— TheRichaChadha (@RichaChadha) December 30, 2017
Myself Rcha.

7. Anuya Jakatdar's twitter feed has it all. Politics, random observations and everything else in between. She's pretty much a necessity to your timeline.
Behind every successful woman are her parents... wondering why she hasn't found someone yet and when she plans on getting married.
— Anuya Jakatdar (@anuyeaah) February 11, 2014
8. Sophia Benoit is quite a riot on Twitter. Her cover image might be a repost of someone saying she's unfunny, but we can vouch for the complete opposite, if the image doesn't do that already.
I never believe when someone says fame didn't change them. I changed when I got $127 on my tax return.

"I'm the good kind of fat, too."
9. Aditi Mittal is no newbie when it comes to making her audiences laugh and, well, also when it comes to easily offending people. Her Twitter feed seems to be no different. If you're looking for a laugh or an opinion on just about everything, this is one account you've got to follow.
I always thought "Vicco Turmeric, nahi cosmetic" was our national anthem which is why it played before every movie.

10. We can't help but be in awe of how Aparna Nancherla presents the darker sides of reality, but with wicked sarcasm and humour. Reality is often unpleasant, but there's no need for it to always be spoken about morosely. Nancherla's Twitter feed is the perfect example of that.
If you really wanna honor the spirit of 2017, instead of kissing someone at midnight, push them off a bridge
— Aparna Nancherla (@aparnapkin) December 31, 2017
11. Prajakta M. might be a banker in real life, but on Twitter she's a socialbitterfly. Yes, you read right, and it's not a typo - bitterfly. Although, she's anything but bitter. Just exactly the right amount of spice, we think.
Never ask me my weekend plans. I stay with my parents. My plan is 'at least ye Sunday daant na khau' plan.
