We love how since our textile minister Smriti Irani tweeted about Indian handlooms on the 1st of August, it's become a very hot trend on social media. Some of our favourite stars have totally been supporting the handloom trend and have been spotted wearing a lot of handlooms in the past few months. Some even on Diwali and promotions - which we are hoping is going to become the trend this wedding season too!
15 celebs have been spotted wearing one designer! Now I know, you're very curious to know who this designer is. Well it is none other than the handloom master, Sanjay Garg, the mastermind behind Raw Mango.
We all have dreamed of owning some designer garment or the other. I have dreamed of owning one saree or lehenga from Raw Mango (someday). And when I see all the celebs wearing designs by Sanjay Garg, I can't help but drool. Who is with me on this?
Have a look at the stunning outfits Sanjay Garg has created and see how so many celebrities, from Alia Bhatt to Diya Mirza have styled them.
Most of these outfits are from the 'Shamiana' collection by Sanjay Garg. He says, "Shamiana is a curation of timeless sarees evoking memories of festivity and joy and are ideal for weddings and the season for festivals in our diversely rich culture."
1. Shilpa In A Striped Saree
How stunning does Shilpa Shetty look in this pink striped saree paired with a lot of gold. Who said you can't wear stripes on a saree?! This is perfect for a mehendi or cocktail function.
2. Alia Bhatt In A Pastel Green Sharara
Alia Bhatt in a beautiful pastel green light brocade kurta with a heavy brocade sharara and an odhni to finish the look. Take cue from Alia and work a brocade on brocade look. To nail this look - mix and match between the lighter and heavier brocades and finish it off with a simple plain dupatta or odhni. Play with different coloured brocade to go all out. Keep your makeup minimal and hair tied back for that perfect traditional look. Be the centre of attention at the sangeet without taking away attention from the bride.
3. Malaika Arora In A Brocade Kurta
Malaika wore this stunning heavy brocade maroon and gold kurta with the same colour skirt. Elegant and absolutely gorgeous! She paired it with a Gold necklace and killed the look. Take inspiration from Malaika and wear this to a roka ceremony. Remember if your outfit is this heavy, you would want to go with bare minimum makeup and accessories.
4. Deepika Padukone In A Floral Saree
Deepika wore this beautiful floral saree with a sheer statement sleeves blouse for the 1st promotional event for Padmavati. Wear this with a pair of statement earrings and juttis to your best friend's mehendi and get people's heads turning!
5. Neha Dhupia In A Pink Lehenga
Deep in our hearts we all love some shade of pink, and Neha Dhupia is killing it with the brocade fuchsia pink kurta with the same colour silk skirt. Wear this to a cocktail or a reception.
6. Radhika Apte In A Green Saree
This simple yet elegant saree can be worn with a lot of heavy jewellery to jazz up your look for a small function at home, like a haldi or choora.
