Prada and Simona Rocha's AW'23 collections showcased fashion and beauty looks highlighting the sweet and humble bow in unimaginable ways.

"This year, the bow and coquette trend will push boundaries, merging power with elegance, whether in a sharp suit or a flowing gown. No longer just an accessory, the bow is a statement of individuality and fluid beauty," says designer Dolly J, who is not new to this trend.

As seen on the designer's Selene: Our Celestial Enchantress collection preview at the India Couture Week 2023, she featured structured bow-capes on the runway in a way like you've never seen before.

Margaret Qualley looked elegant in Chanel, wearing a strapless white gown with a glittering black bow. Emma Stone debuted a pixie cut but that is not to say we didn't take notice of her minimalistic bow belt on her crimson Louis Vuitton gown.

Bollywood too is a huge fan of the trend. We see it on the red carpet, lifestyle launch events and daily activities in the lives of some of our favourite celebrities.

Alia Bhatt recently had a very coquette Christmas with family where she went the monochrome route in a red satin dress paired with a bow on her hair. Malaika Arora chimed in on the trend too - whether on her gowns or her hair.

Stylists Speak

Stylist to Parineeti Chopra and Radhika Madan, Nidhi Agarwal speaks to NDTV about the bow trend making a charming return.

"Over the past few seasons, there has been a notable focus on dressing up to evoke childhood nostalgia. What's even better is that it's both easy and affordable. I appreciate that individuals with both girly and goth aesthetics can seamlessly integrate this trend into their looks. Whether it's bows in pretty pastels or stylish black leather ones, they all complement the overall aesthetic beautifully," she says.

How To Ace The Bow Trend

Designer Shahin Mannan shares with NDTV some handy tips on how to ace the bow trend.

She says, "Bows can be incorporated into garments, nails and necklines for a cohesive look. You could go for an exaggerated bow on your outfit that could be placed on your shoulder or back. Or, you could opt for a subtle approach with delicate bows placed on your outfits or even belts with bows can be a great addition to your look."
