Keep your skin fresh and beautiful with these easy beauty remedies

3 Amazing Beauty Remedies For Oily Skin
Beauty tips for oily skin

Much like dry skin, having oily skin too is frustrating and brings about a lot of problems, if one is not careful. Especially during the hotter months, oily skin can lead to clogged pores and skin breakouts like acne and pimples. This happens because excess oil or sebum is secreted by the sebaceous glands that lie beneath the skin's surface. While sebum is necessary to keep the skin moisturised and protected, excess of it is a nightmare, when combined with pollution, dirt and grime.

During times like these, it is important to pay a little more attention to your skin to keep it from harm's way. There are many natural ingredients that you can add in your beauty regime to maintain your skin's oil balance and keep it fresh and glowing. We list down four easy remedies that require just a handful of ingredients:

1. Oatmeal and honey

Both these ingredients work wonders for the skin with their healing, moisturising and antioxidant properties. Oatmeal helps undo the damage from UV rays and pollution due to the presence of compounds called saponins, whereas honey's antimicrobial properties provides a deep cleanse. They work together to control excess oil secretion.

Take half a cup of oatmeal, two tablespoons honey and half a cup of milk. Mix well and apply as a face mask. Leave it on for 20 minutes and wash with cold water.

2. Tomato and sugar scrub

Tomato is also known for its skin hydrating and nourishing properties, and is a great source of vitamins A, C and K and antioxidant known as lycopene. Regular use of tomato can work wonders to keep your skin looking young and fresh while tackling excess oil, skin breakouts and sunburn.

Blend a tomato and mix it with half a cup of granulated sugar and one tablespoon rose water. Use it to gently exfoliate the skin to remove excess oil and dirt. Wash with cold water.

3. Papaya and lemon face pack

Papaya is a rich source of antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and active enzymes called papain that work effectively in exfoliating dead skin cells, maintaining oil balance, hydrating the skin and improving skin tone. Lemon, on the other hand, has antimicrobial and antioxidant properties that help cleanse the skin and boost collagen production.

Take half a cup of mashed papaya and mix one tablespoon lemon juice. Apply it as a face pack and leave it on for 15 minutes. Wash with cold water.
