3 Low-Calorie Cheat Meals You Can Make At Home
Even when on a diet, you can enjoy a few treats here and there

Going on a diet is never easy. Foregoing some of the foods that you love and crave, and opting instead for things that will help you lose weight can feel frustrating. But when you're putting in so much effort and have reached a certain point in your weight loss journey, going off track can often feel worse. Having a cheat day or two every once in a while is important - after all, you deserve it after all that hard work and abstinence. In light of your goals, though, eating a meal that can actually set you off track and make you lose focus isn't exactly ideal. If you've come this far, why ruin your progress by eating a heavy, calorie dense meal? That doesn't mean you can't enjoy a few treats here and there. A cheat meal is absolutely possible, it just doesn't need to be unhealthy or high in calories.

Here are a few guilt-free options you can include in your diet when you feel like having a cheat meal. The best part? You can make them right in your own kitchen!

1. Choco-Oatmeal Bowl

This diet dessert option is absolutely delicious, healthy and calorie friendly - and it won't take more than 5 minutes to prepare, we promise. Simply take 2 tablespoons of oatmeal. Prepare it with 1/4 cup milk. Once cooked, add some unsweetened cocoa powder (1 teaspoon) and mix. Add some honey to this mixture (as per your taste) and you're good to go.

2. Greek Yogurt Ice-Cream

Homemade ice cream the easy (and healthy) way? Yes, please!

Start by freezing a banana and some berries. Now, take one cup greek yogurt and blend together in a mixer with the frozen fruits. Put the mixture back in the freezer and let it rest for 2-3 hours. Voila, you've got yourself some healthy ice-cream to beat your sweet cravings.

3. Roasted Makhanas (Fox Nuts)

Craving something savoury? Nothing like some home roasted makahans to satiate you. Makhanas are low in calories and make a great snack while on a diet. Simply take some makhana seeds and roast them in a pan with a little bit of olive oil and salt. Make sure not to load on the oil, salt or masalas for it to actually serve as diet food. It's the perfect snack to munch on at all times of day or night.
