3 Movies To Revisit As You Vegetate This Weekend
Three movies that hit all the right notes

There are movies we watch and forget. Then there are movies that stay with us long after we are done with them. And then there are movies that attain cult status. They aren't necessarily the ones with the greatest cast, or something that out of the ordinary; sometimes, they are just everyday stories that were performed to high efficiency and artistic expression.

Years will pass by, many stories and movies will come and go, but these particular movies will stay in everyone's mind. There are so many of them - the romances, the classics, the black and whites.

But this weekend, how about we vegetate our day away by revisiting these three movies that we have watched before but can't ever get enough of - a balm for our hearts and souls.

The Notebook

How many times have we drowned ourselves in Allie's playfulness, her headstrong nature and passionate drive? How many times have we drooled over Noah's looks, the strength and the will of his emotions, and his labour of love? And yet, somehow the movie never fails to send us into a mellow zone. A tale of love lost, only to be found again; a tale of passion, time, and undying romance, this one will always have a special place in our hearts.

Revolutionary Road

In our times, when we are running towards filling our lives with things that give us happiness, here is a story of a couple who are trying to fight the emptying of life as much as they become a part of it. Brilliant performances by Leonardo Di Caprio and Kate Winslet were complementary to an amazing story of ennui, and the disparity between who we want to be and what we end up becoming.

Pretty Woman

And to end our weekend on a happy note, let's have Vivian give us a reminder that good things, beautiful things can happen when you are least expecting them. That a street side prostitute with a golden heart will be seen for who she is by a handsome and charming man, and not as what society made her out to be. This is a film that hits all the right notes - humour, romance, and hope. Obviously Julia Roberts did a fab job and made this movie one to always remember.
