3 Quick And Easy Ways To Wear Your Blanket Scarf This Winter

With winter's plummeting temperatures, the one accessory every fashionista worth the label can't stop raving about is the blanket scarf. How can something that has 'blanket' in its name not be comfortable and snuggly? But as cozy and warm as it will keep you, it can tend to make you look frumpy, when not worn properly. If you've been avoiding the blanket scarf because you don't know what to do with all that fabric, we're here to rescue you. When you know how to work it, the blanket scarf can be surprisingly versatile and worn just about anywhere.

We've told you before, we're telling you again: a belt is the easiest way to add some oomph to your outfit. A boring jumpsuit? Not so much, when you throw a belt into the mix. So why not combine two cool fashion hacks and turn it into one super chic one? Fold your scarf horizontally, drape it over your shoulders and cinch it with the belt on your waist. Layer this hack, over or under, however you want it. Not only is this look elegant and sharp, it will not make you look bulky -- always a concern with winters many layers. Win-win.

When there's little time to spend but winter's chills to keep at bay, this look is your go-to friend. Drape your scarf evenly on the shoulders and tuck one corner under the the opposite shoulder's drape. Secure it with a pin, if you're going to be on the move and don't want to have to think about sliding it back into place. It literally takes only a minute and you're good to go. How much more can you ask for, really?

So you snoozed your alarm and didn't wake up until it was already too late? Been there, done that. Those few precious seconds under the blanket on a particularly cold wintry morning is almost worth a fashion crime. Not on our watch, though. Quickly tie up the diagonal ends of the scarf in a tiny knot and wrap it twice around your neck. Add a pair of chunky earrings to even out the look.
