Keep these in mind, especially during the monsoons

Monsoons are a bad season for those who suffer from respiratory issues. Many times, what starts with a cold and a cough turns into a sore throat and then a congested chest - the next thing you know you are having issues breathing. But that is hardly the worst of the issues; blocked nose not letting you sleep, finding it hard to pass a day without feeling exhausted, and many more issues make life hard.

But there are certain things you can go about avoiding to bring yourself some relief, if you are facing any such issues this season. Here are the things to avoid.

Eating cold things

If you are dealing with a cold and cough, avoid eating and drinking cold things. Things like ice cream, beer, cold drinks, etc are bad for your throat and body, mostly because they cool the body down and also lead to creation of mucus in the body.

Sleeping with the air conditioner on

Seasonal changes also lead to sickness for a lot of people. Keeping the AC on when you are sleeping during a sickness contributes to the body being cold through the night, keeping the blocked nose blocked, and some studies show that it also affects your immune system.

Pollution, dust, and parks

Dust, smoke, pollution, and pollens can all aggravate infections and harm your lungs, thereby making it hard for you to breathe. It is wise then you avoid areas and places where in you know you might find it hard to breathe.
