Have an early dinner
Sleeping right after you eat something is a bad idea because the digestion process might keep you awake. Try and have your dinner 2-3 hours before your sleep time. A full stomach also increases your chances of having heartburns.
Avoid caffeine and alcohol
Both caffeine and alcohol have a stimulating effect on our bodies. Therefore it is wise to avoid consuming either of the two so that they don’t stay awake tossing and turning in the bed.

Avoid stressing at night
Troubled thoughts that we think right before we fall asleep run in our subconscious mind even after we have fallen asleep. This may lead to waking up in the middle of the night. Keep the last few hours before you sleep for meditation and calming yourself down. Going to bed stressed out doesn’t help with the sleeping.
Make your bedroom conducive to peaceful sleeping
Too much light in your room at night and things like an untidy bed may also be causing you to wake up in the middle of your sleep. Make sure your room is designed to allow you as much comfort when you are asleep.
