4 Ways To Stop Your Makeup From Melting During Navratri

Here's how you can make sure your makeup stays in place no matter how much you end up dancing.

4 Ways To Stop Your Makeup From Melting During Navratri

When Navratri comes along, of course your focus is on showing off your killer garba moves and flaunting the new mirror-work number you've got on. But midway through the dancing and revelry, you wouldn't want your makeup to melt into a soppy mess, now would you? With the intense physical activity, harsh lights and stream of sweat, it's highly possible. Good thing is, you can prevent it with a few handy makeup tricks. Keep these items on hand and you'll look flawless all night long.

1. Puff on the powder

Before you leave home, as a final step to your base makeup, dust translucent powder over the oily areas of your face like the nose, forehead, and chin. Unlike regular pressed powders, translucent powder is finer, colourless and soaks up oil like nobody's business. This will keep your skin free from stickiness and oil throughout the festivities.

2. Blot away

In the middle of the night, if you find your oily skin getting a little too shiny for your liking, turn to blotting sheets. Place them over your finished makeup in the spots that have excess oil and let them work their magic. They'll absorb grease like a sponge without shifting your makeup at all. A handy pack of blotting sheets in your purse is all you need.

3. Make it prime time

In the process of applying makeup, add priming as an additional step between moisturiser and foundation. A primer does exactly what its name suggests - it primes the skin to give it a more even texture, stops oil from breaking through it and melting the makeup and finally, it keeps your base makeup in place all through the night. You won't need anything else!

4. Fix it and forget it

Wouldn't it be nice to have a hassle-free way to keep your makeup intact for the rest of the evening? Well, fixing spray just might be the answer. Once your makeup is completed, a few spritzes of fixing spray over your face will keep your skin looking matte and will prevent your base from budging, no matter how long you dance for.
