1. Saffron And Honey Mask

Saffron has been a proven Ayurvedic ingredient which not only balances the doshas but naturally nurtures the skin and makes it blemish free and radiant. The antioxidants present in the saffron also protects the skin from sun damage. On the other hand, honey has antibacterial and antiseptic properties which help in keeping the skin moisturised but not oily.

Soak a few strands of saffron in 1 to2 tablespoons of honey. Let it stay for a few minutes. Apply this mixture to your face and neck and let it settle for 10 to 15 minutes. You can repeat the process twice or three times weekly.

2. Rose Water

With its natural soothing properties, rose water can be used as a toner for the face. The rose water toner helps in removing stress and impurities from the skin, It controls the emotions by giving a calming feeling. It is used as a toner because it cleanses and refreshes the skin. It also brightens the skin making it soft and supple. You can either buy pure rose water from reputed sources or prepare the rose water by steam distillation method.

Store the rose water in the refrigerator for better results. Soak a cotton ball in cold rose water and apply it to the face and neck region. Repeat it twice daily or even three times a day in the summer season.

3. Lemon-Sugar Scrub

Lemon is known for its antiseptic properties. It also helps in cleansing the skin and removing tan. However, one needs to be careful of cuts and bruises on the face before applying lemon on it. The sugar crystals are good exfoliators.

Add 2 to 3 tablespoons of lemon juice to 2 tablespoons of sugar. You can even add a tablespoon of honey to the mixture. Apply the paste to your face and neck region and let it settle for 10 to 15 minutes. Rinse off the mask with lukewarm water. Use this scrub twice a week for better results.

4. Sandalwood Powder

Known in Ayurveda for its fragrance , sandalwood is an age-old solution for youthful looking and radiant skin. The sandalwood face packs give you a radiant skin with a refreshing aroma. The antiseptic properties in sandalwood also helps in reducing pigmentation and dark spots.

Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of sandalwood powder to cold water or rose water solution in a bowl. People with oily skin can even add a tablespoon of multani mitti to the bowl. Multani mitti absorbs the excess oil from acne-prone oily skin. Apply the paste all over the neck and face and keep it for 20 to 25 minutes or till the time it dries and breaks.

5. Papaya And Honey Face Mask

Papain is an enzyme present in papaya fruit that acts as a mild exfoliator for gently removing dead cells. It gives you a radiant and youthful looking skin, Honey, as we know is a natural moisturiser for the skin. The combination would have skin firming properties, reducing the blemishes and also hydrating the skin.

Add a few pieces of ripe paella to a bowl and add 2 to 3 tablespoons of honey to it. Apply the paste over your face and neck and let it settle for 20 to 30 minutes. Then rinse it off with cool water.
