There's no denying that eggs are the perfect food. For breakfast, lunch or dinner, they can be stir fried with spinach or scrambled with cheese for a cheap, tasty meal. Let's not forget that eggs are a powerhouse of nutrients like protein, magnesium, calcium and vitamins. But if you can't stomach another tired sunny side up, fret not. There are plenty of ways to cook eggs, all you have to do is try them at home.

1. Poaching Eggs

You've probably seen this technique mentioned in fancy brunch menus and surprisingly enough, it's actually simple to replicate at home. To a pot of boiling water, add a few drops of vinegar or lemon juice then allow it to simmer. Crack in your egg and allow it to cook. The white covered runny yolk can be served with salmon or avocado toast for a versatile meal.

2. Devilled Eggs

Now here's a spicy take on your regular egg snack. Once you've hardboiled your eggs, separate all the yolks and blend them with mayonnaise, mustard, salt and pepper till it forms a thick paste. Refill the whites with the egg mix and eat up for a quick, healthy snack.

3. Soft Boiled Eggs

In the less popular boiling method of soft boiling, the white stays firm while the yolk becomes deliciously runny. To make it, bring a pot of water to boiling point, then drop in your raw egg. Allow it to cook for five to six minutes maximum, remove it and place in a bowl of ice cubes. Once cool, unpeel gently and slice open on toast. Yum!

4. Basting Eggs

Basting is a somewhere between poaching and frying, making the eggs not to hard or soft. To baste yours, heat a few spoons of butter in a pan and fry your eggs in it. While it cooks, season with salt and pepper and add a bit of water. Allow it to cook for another minute and serve fresh.

5. Baking Eggs

Baking isn't only for cakes and pies. It's possible to bake eggs to make a healthy, simple accompaniment with your meal. To bake eggs, set the temperature of the oven to 170 degrees Celsius. Grease your baking bowls with butter and crack raw eggs in them individually. Top each egg with a spoon of milk and season with salt and pepper. Bake for ten minutes and serve hot.
