At times, your lips just go past the point of no return. Whether it's the weather or the cosmetics we apply, a bunch of factors tend to take a toll on the quality of your lips. Just like skincare, lip care is equally important. Exfoliation and moisturising are key elements of any lip care routine. Enter: Lipmasks. People use a lip mask and let it sit for a bit to replenish and revive. Instead of picking chemical-based alternatives, it is time to put your DIY skills to use with these remedies. 

1. Yoghurt And Baking Soda

Combine 1/4 teaspoon yoghurt and 1/4 teaspoon clay (or baking soda) into a paste. You can also add some lavender or rose hydrosol. Apply and leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes. This will help lock in the nutrients and moisture and won't dry out.

2. Coconut Oil And Honey

Coconut oil's hydrating properties make it superb for lip care. You can apply coconut oil directly or make a lip mask using 1 tablespoon of honey and coconut oil in the same quantity.

3. Yoghurt And Kiwi 

Yoghurt lip masks are an effective way to get rid of dead skin cells. The lactic acid in the yoghurt helps to peel old skin cells. Take two teaspoons of Greek yoghurt and mix it up with 1 teaspoon of muddled kiwi. Apply the paste to make your lips moisturised

4. Olive Oil And Brown Sugar 

The olive oil and brown sugar lip mask works as an all-natural exfoliator While the brown sugar gently brushes away dead skin, olive oil provides moisture and leaves you with soft, smooth lips. Use 2 teaspoons of olive oil and 1 teaspoon of brown sugar to prepare this mask. After 10 minutes, simply rub the mixture onto your lips for 2-3 minutes and leave it for five minutes. Later, wipe it off.

5. Aloe Vera 

Aloe vera is an essential ingredient in hair care and skin care. It has soothing properties, hence it's an ideal pick to take care of the lips. Take a scoop of fresh aloe vera and apply it directly on the lips. You can also mix it with some oil of your choice like almond oil or olive oil.
