With winter already leaving its trademark chilly breeze and dry skin in its wake, everyone needs a quick homemade skin solution. Why? Because it's more natural, cost-effective, gentle and will get rid of troubles like dead skin and clogged pores easily. Plus, there's something so satisfying about feeling spanking clean skin between your fingers. This winter, give these 5 homemade face scrubs a try and see how fresh and clear they make your face feel!

1. Baking Soda Scrub

Now this one's a classic. To 2 tablespoons of baking powder, add 1 tablespoon of mineral water and mix when it fizzes up. Apply this paste all over your skin and scrub in a circular motion while doing so. Let it dry for 20 minutes then wash off with cold water. Not only is it ideal to give you clean skin, it works well on acne too.

2. Brown Sugar Scrub

In a bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of brown sugar and 2 tablespoons of honey. Mix well into a thick paste and massage gently on the face. Let it sit for 30 minutes, then wash with warm water and massage into your skin while doing so. With honey's wonderful healing properties and brown sugar's glycolic acid content, your face will feel supple and your pores, clear.

3. Sea Salt Scrub

This tried and tested scrub is ideal to exfoliate the skin without stripping it of its moisture levels. To 2 tablespoons of chunky sea salt, add 1 tablespoon of coconut oil. Stir together and then massage it gently into the face and neck. After it has soaked for 40 minutes, wash it off using face wash under running water until the salt dissolves.

4. Oatmeal Scrub

Save some oats and milk before you dive into breakfast because they make a great scrub when combined that really gets the gunk out of the pores. To 3 tablespoons of uncut oatmeal, add 1 tablespoon of cold milk and 1 tablespoon of water. Apply the thick paste over your face and let it harden for 40 minutes. When washing it off with cold water, first wet the face, then scrub while you remove the residue. Just make sure you don't eat any!

5. Lemon Scrub

Combine 2 tablespoons of sugar, 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice in a bowl. Mix thoroughly and then apply on your face, making sure to massage it in while doing so. Let it soak in for 30 minutes, then wash off with face wash and warm water. Thanks to lemon's clarifying properties and olive oil's nourishing ones, this scrub will leave the skin pampered and clean.
