Sara Tendulkar loves to travel, and her Instagram photos are proof. The celebrity recently shared a throwback snippet of her trip to Istanbul. Earlier this year, Sara went on a girl's trip with her childhood friends to the Turkish city. Sharing the pictures to her Instagram account, she wrote, “A stroll in Istanbul”. In the pictures, we can see the picture of a beautiful monument known as the Dolmabahce Palace, located in the Besiktas district of Istanbul, which served as the main administrative center of the Ottoman Empire from 1856 to 1887 and from 1909 to 1922. In another picture, we can see her exploring the city with her friends. 1. Basilica Cistern  

Also known as the Sunken Palace, it is the largest cistern from Istanbul's Byzantine era which is still standing strong. Descending below the streets of Sultanahmet is this majestic underground reservoir that dates to the 6th century. The underground chamber has over 336 distinctive columns, which makes it worth visiting.  

2. Hagia Sophia Mosque  

This architectural marvel is a beautiful sight to visit. It displays 30 million gold titles throughout its interior and a wide, flat dome, which was a bold engineering feat at the time when it was built in the 6th century. This mosque and former church serve as a major cultural and historical site in Istanbul, Turkey.  

3. Beylerbeyi Palace  

This summer residence of the Sultans is another must visit place in Istanbul. It was used by the Sultans to house the foreign heads of state who visited the Ottoman capital. The present structure was built between 1861 and 1865 and has six staterooms and 26 smaller rooms.  

4. Suleymaniye Mosque  

This is an impressive historical building that offers scenic views of the Golden Horn. The mosque was originally built in 1557 over the course of 7 years. When you visit this mosque, you can see marble columns set with peristyle design, stained glass windows and detailing architecture.  

5. Topkapi Palace 

Last but not the least, Topkapi is another surreal site to watch. It is a palace that once serves as the primary residence for Ottoman sultans. Witness the beautiful courtyards and buildings that are remarkably well-preserved.
