Mothers today are super busy - home, office, kids, family, social life all keep them running throughout the day 24*7 so the much-needed time for themselves is always relegated to the back. 'Me time' is the time spent relaxing on your own, doing what you want to do freely without any sort of mental pressure and distress to restore the much-needed energy and vigor. ‘Me time' needs to be part of a mother's daily routine and is not something she can plan for later when the kids grow up or once she is free from household responsibility.
‘Me time' is important to unplug your brain and unwind; it relaxes, distresses, increases your patience levels, improves your mood, helps in better sleep, and has lots of other beneficial effects. When there is so much to do but very little time, you have to squeeze ‘me time' into your schedule. A little effort and a little planning are all that is needed – if you have dreamt about it you can find time to achieve it. ‘Me time' is as necessary as breathing and it's possible even for the super busy moms, otherwise, you burn out quickly and will be of no use to anyone.
So, throw away the guilt feeling, share the workload with your partner and other family members and make time to do what relaxes you. Here are some ways you can do that.
Get Moving

At the start of the day go for a walk, enjoy nature, do some exercise, do yoga, and talk with morning walkers. You get to reconnect, plan your day and get enough time to feel recharged, and start your normal day with a light heart and steps. It's not necessary that you spend an hour doing that; spending just 15 to 20 minutes would be a welcome change.
Pamper Yourself

When the kids are off to school, take a break from the office; go to a spa, have nail art done, head for a massage or a facial –this will certainly relax and rejuvenate your body and mind. All this can be done at home too if you have to be at home for your small baby –at his nap time.
Pursue Your Hobbies And Talents

Go to the movies or lunch out with friends, or attend some hobby classes, lectures on topics you enjoy, or visit a museum that you have been wanting to go to for a long time. Order food online and use that time to do something you enjoy.
Release Your Guilt

Plan something for yourself, read a book or go for an outing on a weekend leaving the kids with their grandparents who would surely love to spend time alone with them. Go trekking or on a holiday, and not wait for a special event to happen to do so.
Do Nothing

Take time to just sit and dream, meditate or enjoy the much-needed coffee without any interruption. Switch off your gadgets and declutter your brain. Watch your favorite series or just roam about in the mall if that's what makes you happy.
The one thing that is in very short supply for moms is time –they don't have time for themselves –it's hard to find time to do such things. But isn't there a saying –if you are really keen to do something then you do make time for that? So, ladies, you need to gear up and find some ‘me time' – it's a necessity for you and for your family too!
