5 Things Not To Do When You Have A Crush On Someone
Keep your wits about you

Okay, we all know that feeling in the pit of our stomach: we call it butterflies in the tummy, some memes say it's good sense leaving us. And it comes when we have a crush on someone, among other things.

Now I know that it is hard to hold back the excitement one feels when we have a crush on someone, what with the prospect of new possibilities, the happy feeling, the getting-to-know a new person. But that prospect is all for nothing if we come across as too eager or intense. Sometimes we come on too strong and ruin things even before they begin. And that leaves us feeling hurt, confused, and somewhat guilty.

So here are a few tips on how to not lose your head over a new crush and mess it up even before it begins.

1. Do not obsess over them

I know that's easier said than done but you have got to keep your wits about you. Do not obsess over why they aren't reaching out, if whether they like you, or noticed you, or if they are thinking about you, the list goes on. The more you entertain these thoughts, the worse it gets. Go about your life the way it was, things will happen as they happen.

2. Don't hide your feelings

But no one should be hiding their feelings out of fear of rejection anyway. It is essential to let someone know that they are liked. There is so much negativity out there, some positive vibes directed at someone is always a good idea. Plus, you will never know how it can end if you never try.

3. Don't stalk them

I know you are trying to be prepared, but honey it is not a war you are setting out for. Besides, what's the point of judging someone based on their virtual personality. They probably are so much different in real life. Give them the freedom to open up at their own pace.

4. Don't play games

It is 2018. No one has a lot of time to devote to deciphering what and how you feel for them. Save yourself the trouble and impatience and be clear in what you feel and communicate.

5. Don't be creepy

Like I said, coming on too strong right off the bat freaks people out. Don't unload your life story on them, don't overshare. Just, no weird stuff okay?

Take a moment to think about whether you do any or all of the above. If the answer is yes, memorise the don'ts.
