5 Ways To Take Better Instagram Pictures For An Amazing IG Feed

We won't be far off the mark if we say that Instagram is what most numbers of people use when they want to interact with people socially. What was once just a photo-sharing application is now a marketplace, a chat application, meme-central, and of course, a place to showcase your artistic side. A lot of people I know once used Instagram to simply post pictures from everyday life; now they are influencers, or photographers - making money off their accounts. Pretty cool, eh?

But in all honesty, it all begins with great pictures. That is one of the reasons why Instagram is so darn popular with everyone - it is a visual medium. All you have to do is scroll and you will be treated to visual wonders. And there are ways to take eye-catching pictures and make sure that people are tempted to explore your profile. Here are some tips to apply to your photo taking skills.

Hocus, focus

Which the age of smarter than usual phones, a lot of phone cameras some with press-focus. If you focus on the subject to blur out the rest - depth of field- your picture is sure to come out better.

Declutter the picture

There is always something that you want the people to focus on when they see a picture. Make sure there are no distracting elements in the picture apart from the subject - garbage on the road, a passerby, etc.

Rule of thirds

This rule dictates that if you apply an imaginary tic-tac-toe board to your picture frame, your subject should fall on one of the intersections of the lines. That way, the subject demands more attention than if it were in the centre. Make for an interesting composition.

Creatively style a picture

If you just want to photograph a wallet or a dish, or an apple, make sure you make the picture a little more interesting by adding interesting elements to the picture. A book? Add a pair of glasses or an hourglass. Get the picture?

Every picture you see on Instagram is edited, even if the teeniest bit. There is always something that you can adjust - contrast, sharpness, light. Don't hold back on tweaking a picture here and there, you may be surprised by how much better a picture will turn out.
