It's been a while since we slipped on a jacket and there are budding blossoms on every tree we pass. You know what that means, right? Spring is just around the corner and soon enough, summer too. While the entirety of India isn't lucky enough to celebrate chilly winters, what we all get equally is a searing hot summer, which sometimes lasts most of the year. After taking a look at international and Indian runways, we've deduced that these six beauty trends will be making a splash this summer. Don't say we didn't warn you when you see them appearing everywhere.
1. Super Skin
Summer is, and always has been, about less being more. Which means layers of foundations and concealer are a complete no-no. Because bare or lightly covered skin (thanks, BB cream) is in, ensure that you focus on giving your skin a whole lot of loving with facial oils, a thorough cleansing and sunscreen this season.
2. Stained Lips
It's time to put away those gluggy liquid lipsticks, ladies, because the upcoming lip look for the season is stained, naturally pigmented lips as opposed to a thick layer of colour. It's a breath of fresh air compared to the matte lipsticks we've grown used to and can be created even with a light dabbing of creamy lipstick over the lips.
3. Coloured Liner
As summer is synonymous with colour, it's the perfect time for coloured liner to come out and play. Get out the funky emerald greens and cobalt blues to create winged eyes or even more precise graphic eye makeup looks on your eyelids. It's bright, it's popping and it gets a free pass this summer.
4. Bronzed Glow
While the past few years have witnessed an obsession with extreme contouring and highlighting, it's about to get subtler this season. The face will see a dusting of bronzer across the cheeks where one wears blush as well over the forehead. Along with that, a touch of gold or bronze toned highlighters will strobe the high points. Even if you aren't planning a beach getaway, just turn to these products to fake that glow.
5. Buns For All
Since no one likes the feeling of stray hair sticking to their sweaty neck, the news that buns are in has left us rejoicing. Expect to see a lot of stylized buns with twisted sections, rolled portions and braided accents which will uplift the same ol' bun and give it a stylish yet wearable summer makeover.
6. Minimal Nail Art
Even the nail art this summer is all set to be crisp and minimal. Geometric nail art has been in for a while now and this summer, expect to see elements of it in a more minimal fashion. Single lines, negative space, accented fingers - that's the kind of stuff that will be in this season.
