It's awards season, so obviously, it is red carpet season too. The recently held Golden Globes have declared the awards season to begin on a fashionable note.
Though it is rare for celebrities to arrive in the same ensemble at the red carpet, there are silhouettes and styles that celebrities and their stylists gravitate towards. The Golden Globes debuted the trends for the upcoming award nights of the year where some made a dynamic debut and some others, made a resurgent return.

1. Opera Gloves
Accessories often go unnoticed on the red carpet. But with so many seen on the red carpet this year, it was hard to look away. Ariana Grande wore a vintage Givenchy dress but to stay true to her demure character from Wicked, her opera gloves made an elegant addition. Actresses Kerry Washington, Ali Wong and Pamela Anderson donned this notable accessory too.
2. Sequins Galore
Sequinned gowns are a dominant red carpet favourite. But who knew we'd see so many of them at the Golden Globes? Mindy Kaling glimmering in a golden Ashi Studio creation, Angelina Jolie's high shine Dena Giannini asymmetrical gown or Cara Delevingne's electrifying blue Gucci gown; the stage is set for a shimmering red carpet season.
3. Necklaces
No matter the neckline, for the Golden Globes this year, they were the canvases of some of the most bespoke necklaces resting on the fine ladies of Hollywood. After witnessing a drought on previous runways and red carpets, the jewellery piece made a sparkling return. Salma Hayek, Anya Taylor-Joy and Zoe Saldana were some of the bejewelled celebs at the event.
4. Archival Fashion
Celebrities are hitting the rewind button to turn to the fashion trends of the past to make an impact. There's no better place than the red carpet to make a lasting one. Archival fashion continues to rule and Elle Fanning's 1953 recreation and Kaley Cuoco's dress from 2001 were some of the standout ones.

5. Strapless Dresses
The strapless dress is here to stay in all its glory. Slinky or voluminous, modern or vintage, the red carpets of the upcoming awards will see many strapless dresses on the frontline of the season's fashion trends. Zendaya's burnt orange dress, Emma Stone's red bow dress - both from Louis Vuitton make a case on point.
6. Recreation Looks As Tributes
Some fashion moments are etched in history that become inspiration for the future. When Ayo Edeberri wore a custom grey Loewe pantsuit, she was referencing Julia Roberts's famous XXL Armani suit from the 1990 Golden Globes. When Kylie Jenner wore a 1999 silver chainmail Versace dress, she was channeling Liz Hurley in the lilac version of the dress from her awards night date with Hugh Grant, to support her beau, Timothee Chalamet. The list goes on.
7. Outfit Repeats
If you've looked good in it once, you can look fabulous in it again. That was the lesson celebrities like Cate Blanchett and Viola Davis taught us from their Golden Globes appearance. They re-wore their gorgeous red carpet looks from 2023 to make a sustainable fashion statement. Obviously, they looked twice as nice wearing them.
2025 red carpet season, bring it on.
