1. Trek To The Tiger's Nest Monastery
Taktsang Monastery or the Tiger's Nest Monastery is located on the outskirts of Paro and is the most popular one in Bhutan. Trekking to the top of the monastery is one of the highlights of the Bhutan trip and cannot be missed. It is around 1000 metres in elevation and the climb takes a couple of hours to complete. But the sacred monastery with shrines of Bhutanese gods with the scenic view of the city from above makes the efforts worth it.
2. Visit The Buddha Dordenma
Overlooking the capital city of Thimpu, Buddha Dordenma was built in the year 2015 for the prosperity of the country. The statute stands around 50 metres high and is visible from the city. It is a popular pilgrimage place for the locals and a tourist attraction for visitors.

3. Visit To The National Memorial Chorten
The National Memorial is on the road for the Monastery. The temple was built in 1974 in honour of the king of Bhutan. Several tourists also like walking to the Stupa during the daytime.
4. Witness Snow At The Dochula Pass
Dochula Pass is a popular stop between Thimpu and Punakha. It is set at 3000 metres in the mountains overlooking the valley. You can explore the monastery and enjoy the nearby botanical garden.
5. Visit The Phunaka Dzong
Dzongs are fortresses which are changed into administrative buildings in Bhutan. They are enormous complexes with monk's accommodations and administration offices. Phunaka Dzong is one of the most popular Dzongs in Bhutan.
6. Have A Walk On The Suspension Bridge
A little away from the Phunaka Dzong is the suspension bridge which is the longest one in Bhutan. It is a 160 metres bridge connecting Phunaka city with Phunaka Dzong over the River Po Chhu.
7. Visit The Fertility Temple
From Phunaka, at a short walk of around 20 minutes if the fertility temple. This temple is considered sacred as women who come here and pray for children are believed to be blessed with them. Hence the name fertility temple. It was built in 1499 by the Divine Madman.
