Comb through enough celebrity photos from the year and you'll notice one thing; they really did push the boundaries in the beauty department. Whether it's been with phenomenal hairstyles or fantastic tresses, Bollywood and Hollywood stars have made every appearance, on set or on the red carpet, seem like their personal fashion show. We're not complaining. Here's a look at eight celebrities we can't stop raving about for their makeup choices.
1. Deepika Padukone
To waltz into GQ's Fashion Night in a low-cut hybrid saree, Deepika Padukone paired the look with a mid-length messy ponytail with a side parting. The makeup complemented the sultry look to perfection - classic black smokey eyes, nude lips and her trademark defined brows. A fine example of fabulous makeup working hand-in-hand with a bold ensemble.
2. Kim Kardashian
Makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic shot to fame with the soft glam look he has perfected on Kim Kardashian. Yet again, she wears it with elan for an appearance, created by Mario's genius, of course. Along with platinum blonde hair and exposed dark roots, Kim's makeup comprises of warm, gentle sculpting along the edges of the faces, dewy highlights down the centre and soft grey eye makeup to tie it all together.
3. Sonam Kapoor
It's safe to say that Sonam has had a great year in the style sphere (duh!). This time too, for the Filmfare Glamour And Style Awards, she paired a mirror work dress with a daintily made-up look, which included a metallic hair band pulling back an updo with stray strands left at the sides. Sonam's makeup was soft and simple - gold foil eye with winged eyeliner, rosy lips and matching cheeks. Seems like the most stylish crown will continue to stay safely with Sonam.
4. Sofia Carson
Young singer-actress Sofia Carson, who is still making her way up the movie ranks seems to have found a comfortable spot in style circles. At the premiere of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Sofia wore a sleek low ponytail and a strong side part without a hair out of place. With it, she paired a festive burgundy winged shadow that left us speechless. Finishing off the look were bushy brows, strobed skin and peach lips.
5. Yami Gautam
This look of Yami Gautam's completely blew us away. Along with silvery eyes and voluminous lashes, she gave us a pop of blue by jumping on-board the underliner trend. With it, she worked peach toned cheeks, a hint of it on the lips as well and messy beach waves.
6. Blake Lively
A regular on every 'Most Stylish' list, it's no surprise that Blake is on ours too. For a screening for her movie All I See Is You, the Gossip Girl star left us awestruck in a faux bob that she paired with sun-kissed skin, minimal eye makeup and fiery red lips.
7. Jacqueline Fernandez
We're going to take a stab and say that Jacqueline is the kind of girl who likes to have fun with her makeup and with this look, she did just that. Giving us a lesson on how brights can work wonders together, she paired pink toned eye makeup with rosy lips and peach cheeks, while wearing a fiery red ensemble. Her half ponytail is just the breezy touch that this look needs.
8. Kangana Ranaut
Showing us that she's a power player in 2017's celebrity makeup showdown, Kangana Ranaut wore her hair in a tightly pulled back bun and chose bold brows, shimmery lids and glossy burgundy lips too complement that look of steel. We've got the festive feels in an instant with this look.
