Things were very different for Vijay Varma in 2013. In an interview with Film Companion, the actor spoke about his Cannes debut and the challenges that came with it. For the red carpet walk, which follows a dress code, Vijay shared, "I went to people, saying, ‘Can some designer come, can some stylist help me out?' And they said, ‘Who's Vijay Varma? We don't want to dress anybody.'" 10 years later in 2023, Vijay Varma has returned to Cannes and we consider ourselves blessed for the same. Life may seem like it has come full circle for Vijay, who wore renowned Indian designer Anamika Khanna for his latest appearance. Vijay styled a white wrap-around asymmetrical full sleeve kurta with loose pants, featuring a colourful green and blue design running over the sides. The edge design was the only colour quotient of his not-so-conventional ensemble. He layered the kurta with a full-sleeve coat. Matching shoes rounded off his dapper look. A pair of uber-cool sunglasses was the only accessory Vijay needed.

Vijay Varma, who made his Cannes debut 10 years ago in 2013, returned to the prestigious red carpet as a part of the Indian delegation at Cannes. For his first appearance, he wore a tailored black double-breasted suit by designer Gaurav Gupta, where the actor made our hearts pop. He paired his ensemble with shiny red-bottom formal shoes. Giving a spin to black-tie formals, he added a black pussybow, usually seen on women's blouses, around the collar of his shirt. A diamond-and-emerald dragonfly brooch, neatly pinned on the black satin lapel of the blazer, gave the perfect glitzy pop to his all-black look.
We are no strangers to Vijay Varma's unconventional lookbooks. At the premiere of his recent release, Dahaad, Vijay opted for yet another black tailored suit consisting of a double-breasted blazer and straight-fit pants. However, the actor gave the boardroom dressing a Bollywood touch in his sheer printed round-neck T-shirt. A silver chain with a blue stone pendant for accessories looked super cool. Black formal shoes completed his red carpet ensemble.
