Unsurprisingly, it went on to be a phenomenal hit that made millions at the box office and smash many records. A decade later, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again has released over the world and tomorrow, will be in India. Mamma Mia! fans who've loyally supported the movie for the past 10 years are in plenty and are sure to throng theatres over the weekend. 1. The Music
It's safe to say that Mamma Mia! wouldn't be the hit it was if it wasn't for its exceptional music. The movie's soundtrack runs on the hits of popular Swedish group ABBA and is sung by the movie cast. It's those familiar foot-tapping tunes like Dancing Queen, Honey, Honey and I Have A Dream that make the movie such a loved one. It also gets its name from the hit ABBA song Mamma Mia!
2. The Cast
The cast of the 2008 movie is incredible and filled with power-packed film icons. It included Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth as well as Stellan Skarsgard and Amanda Seyfried. The excitement only doubles in the next film as many more characters played by Cher, Andy Garcia and Lily James join the gang.
3. The Location
If it wasn't the music that captured your attention in Mamma Mia!, it was surely the location. Filmed on the tiny Greek island of Skopelos and the Pelion area, the movie is filled with blissful blue skies, pristine waters and quiet sceneries. The number of Mediterranean holidays booked post the movie is sure to be countless.
4. The Plot
What ties it all together is a delightful plot. A young girl living the quiet island life and wants to see the world while simultaneously searching for her father. Sounds like fun to us!
